La suita, es una palma relativamente sencilla y pequeña cuyo nombre científico Asterogyne que significa, Astero/Estrella – Gyne/Mujer.
Naturales de las selvas nubladas y húmedas, se encuentra esparcidas por Centroamérica y el norte de Suramérica estando en vías de extinción. La Suita es una palma que pasa inadvertida ante la densidad del bosque y las palmas más grandes que ella, pero aunque es sencilla y relativamente pequeña tiene una misión en este lugar ; Tejiendo artesanalmente sus hojas se construye, da cobijo y protege.
La vivienda indígena de la comunidad Bribri así como la casa Cósmica todo un símbolo para esta comunidad, usan hojas tejidas de la suita para fabricar sus techos.
Estrella, Mujer, indígena, casa cósmica… Una acumulación de símbolos y de conceptos que desembocan en sensaciones cuando te la encuentras allí sola, ante ti.
Y allí solo con ella en la inmensidad del bosque, pensando en millones de ideas para nuestro pequeño paraíso nació el nombre de este proyecto «La Suita».

The Suita, is a relatively simple and small Palm whose scientific name is Asterogyne meaning, Astero/star-Gyne/woman.
Native of the cloudy and humid jungles, scattered by Central America and Northern South America is in danger of extinction. The Suita is a Palm that goes unnoticed in the density of the forest and the larger palms around, but although it is simple and relatively small in this place she has a mission; weaving her leaves by hand shelter and protection is build.
The indigenous Bribri community housing as well as the Cosmic House a symbol for this community used the suita woven sheets to make their roofs.
Star, indigenous woman, Cosmic House … An accumulation of symbols and concepts that leads to feelings when you find her there alone, before you.
And there alone with her in the vastness of the forest, thinking about millions of ideas for our small paradise the name of “La Suita” for this project was born.
